The origin story of RE 19: art born from experiment
The painting “RE 19” is not a conventional work. It did not originate on a blank canvas, but on a work surface that absorbed paint during numerous creative phases. While I was working on various projects, the cotton underlays caught the drips and splashes. These seemingly random patterns and layers of color were reused after the completion of the paintings and stretched onto a stretcher frame. In this way, a new, independent artwork was born from the “remnants of an experiment”. Every splash of paint and every line is the result of artistic freedom and spontaneous creation.
RE 19: large-format artwork – 210x150 cm of pure color
With its dimensions of 210 x 150 cm, “RE 19” has an impressive presence. The size of the painting allows the viewer to be drawn into the depth of the layers of color and to lose themselves in the multitude of details. Thanks to the large format, the splashes of color and structures are shown to particular advantage and create a striking visual impact that enlivens the room and draws the eye. This work is more than just a painting – it is a statement.
RE 19: Abstract art with a personal touch
Every artwork tells a story, and “RE 19” is no exception. For me, this piece is an expression of my philosophy that beauty and art often arise from the most unexpected processes. What others might see as “waste” becomes inspiration for me and creates space for new ideas. “RE 19” is an ode to experimentation, letting go, and the joy of creating. This creative process is reflected in every drop of paint.
From canvas to exhibition: “RE 19” near Frankfurt
“RE 19” is more than just a painting – it is the centerpiece of my current exhibition (Sept 2024) near Frankfurt (Wiesbaden). There it is shown in the context of the “Reste eines Experiments” series and unfolds its full impact. Visitors to the exhibition are repeatedly fascinated by the depth and vibrancy of the painting, which appears chaotic at first glance but, on closer inspection, is full of structure and depth. It is an artwork that lives in the space and appeals to the senses.
