Mark Hellbusch – Expressive painter and experimental artist

Stations of my childhood took me – in addition to my birthplace Bad Segeberg – to Barcelona, Boston, and Frankfurt. Even as a child I discovered my passion for art and began with my first drawings and acrylic paintings.

After studying in England and Germany, I took the leap into self-employment in 1997. Alongside my workshops “Introduction to expressive and experimental painting,” I took part in solo and group exhibitions, including in Berlin, Antwerp, Frankfurt, Wiesbaden, and Mainz. "Hunters", "Redwind" and "Fossile Landschaften" were my themes at that time.

In 2007 I founded the production gallery “Hellbusch” in Mainz.

My art is shaped by an intense engagement with color and form. Well-known series such as "Der Farbkasten" and "Field of Mars" emerge.

My sons Levin (2010) and David (2012) are born.

Further exploration of the experimental with "Splash" and "Organic Grounds" in Wiesbaden.

Olivia (2018) is born.

In 2020 I founded ARTLET, a small gallery and showroom in the heart of Wiesbaden. Always open on Fridays and Saturdays, this is where my paintings can be viewed and purchased.

In the studio I am currently working on "RE" and "Aus dem Licht" (Oct 2024)
