RE - Art objects, paper works, and paintings from remnants. Art by Mark Hellbusch.

To experiment successfully, you can't be stingy; otherwise, it probably won't work out. New projects in the studio consume a lot of brushes, paints (in tubes, cans, or buckets), paper, cotton, paint rollers, canvases, spatulas, and much more. Sometimes, you don't want to just throw everything away afterward—it looks so nice! Besides, you'd have to go to the dump again. Why not make a 'still life' out of it?

Even from the supposed chaos and remnants of an experiment, art can "blossom." Here, waste is just another form of inspiration.Old brushes that have already created countless works find a second chance here to become part of a new art piece. Paint cups that once held colors are transformed into vibrant wall objects that engage the senses. Chunks of paint, cut-up paper works, or layered paintings can make the art 'work.'

"RE" stands for "Remnants of an Experiment."

The simple wear and tear of work materials sometimes creates interesting or stimulating objects that can be brought together. But there are also my experimental themes, such as "Mars Field", "Organic Grounds" or "Splash!", which incidentally become the basis for the series "Remnants of an Experiment." The remnants created during experimentation often turn into small art objects and works.
