By the Lake – Colors like reflections in the water

A paint-box painting full of vibrancy

“By the Lake” (80 × 110 × 4 cm, 2014) is a work that recalls reflections on a moving water surface. Strong reds, luminous yellow, clear blue and fresh green combine to form a vibrating color field.

The round paint pans in the upper part appear like sparkling reflections of light, while the rectangular mixing fields below them evoke reeds, water, and depth. This work belongs to the series “Der Farbkasten” and is now part of a private collection. “Am See” powerfully demonstrates how color creates atmosphere – in this case, a connection between an experience of nature and abstract painting.
