Blue Paintings – Abstract Painting in Blue

The dominance of blue arises in my work in different ways. Sometimes a blue ground forms the starting point of a painting, on which further colors and structures develop. In other works, the blue effect emerges from the painting process itself – from layers, fragments, or from an experimental approach to color.

Depending on the intensity and interaction with other shades, this creates either calm, expansive pictorial spaces or lively movements of color. Blue can carry depth and atmosphere or function as an open color space in which further structures unfold.

The Effect of Blue in the Pictorial Space

Blue can create a sense of expanse, calm, or movement. In many of my works, this effect arises from the interplay of grounds, layers of color, and fragmented traces of paint.
