Contemporary experimental paintings on round canvases: Splash!

The experiment “Splash!” was inspired by a childhood experience: at a fair in Boston I was allowed to throw paint onto a sheet of paper that lay on a rotating turntable. I was allowed to take the finished artwork home with me for a small fee. Today I take this technique to a new level by throwing paint onto a rotating canvas that is kept in constant motion with the help of a modified drill.

The resulting compositions are graceful and unique, influenced by the rotation speed of the canvas as well as the choice, quantity, consistency and throwing technique of the paint. This method requires spontaneous decisions in terms of colour and form composition and combines entertainment with artistic ambition.
