Modern experimental paintings on round canvases: Splash!
The experiment "Splash!" was inspired by a childhood experience: At a fair in Boston, I was allowed to throw paint onto a sheet of paper that was on a rotating turntable. I was able to take the finished artwork home for a small fee. Today, I take this technique to a new level by throwing paint onto a rotating canvas that is kept in constant motion with the help of a modified drill.
The resulting compositions are graceful and unique, influenced by the speed of the canvas rotation as well as the selection, amount, consistency, and throwing technique of the paint. This process requires spontaneous color and form compositional decisions and combines entertainment with artistic ambition.
