A source of inspiration in art: the paint box in large format.
The leaps in thought that the paint box generates as a symbol lead many viewers back to childhood. The title "The Odd One Out" is an invitation to steer your own associations in a different direction without losing your personal touch. The paint box becomes a source of personal inspiration.
The canvas as the basis for the large format.
The large format was constructed from wooden slats, plant saucers, canvas and a stretcher frame. The painting object "The Odd One Out" measures 110 x 120 cm and was established in 2024 in Wiesbaden. I first glued and screwed together the canvas and the different types of stretcher bars. The paint trays are plant saucers. Acrylic and oil paints, glue and binder were used to paint and work on the large-format painting.
Modern painting on the paintbox leads to abstract art.
Through the juxtaposition of graceful areas of colour, fields of tension in form and colour emerge. On the one hand, the primary colours yellow, orange, red, green, blue, violet, brown, white and black. These colours can be seen in this or a similar way on almost every paint box. On the other hand, the “used” paint-box pans, the colourful spaces in between and the coloured edge area. The spatial effect of the colours through contrasts is further enhanced by the (real) shadows cast by the paint box. With modern, experimental painting on the oversized paint box, abstract art is created in the form of a painted wall sculpture. The result of the experimental painting, the symbolic power of the paint box and the guidance of a title (“The Odd One Out”) invite you to associate freely. When the imagination – once set in motion – is stimulated in many different ways in the viewer, an open, often very personal process of abstraction emerges.
Free shipping – not only in Wiesbaden, but throughout Germany.
Delivery (Wiesbaden and surrounding areas) or shipping of the artwork is free of charge. During (Hessian) school holidays, there may be delays due to vacations. Delivery pauses will be communicated in the header of the homepage.
The abstract painting can be displayed in any orientation – it has no “top” or “bottom.”
There is no "top" or "bottom" – the abstract painting can be displayed in any orientation. For this reason, the painting or painting object has been signed on the back. A varnish protects the artwork from color changes. If there is a lot of light opposite the painting sculpture – for example through a window – a matte varnish should be used. This should not be sprayed onto the painting before mid-2024 at the earliest. You will achieve optimal presentation if there is space around the painting. The width of the wall surface (including the painting) should be at least 3 and at most 6 meters.
