Wall objects – art between painting and object

Wall objects move between painting and sculpture. Colour, material and structure project out from the surface and turn the picture into a physical object in the room.
In my wall objects, pictorial spaces arise not only through colour, but also through material, relief and physical surface. Structures, paint residues or condensed colour fragments become part of the composition and give the works a distinctive spatial presence.
The works in this category combine painterly processes with object-like structures and expand classical painting by an additional dimension.
Material, Structure, and Space
While classical paintings work primarily through color and composition, wall objects also emerge through their material surface. Relief-like structures, condensed traces of paint, or material fragments change the perception of the picture in space.
Depending on how the light falls, different shadows and senses of depth emerge, constantly changing the character of the works.
Wall objects in my series
Object-like structures are found above all in works from the series Farbkasten, in which paint residues, material traces, and condensed paint surfaces themselves become the central component of the composition. Individual works from the series RE also take up this corporeal quality of painting and develop pictorial spaces that operate between color, material, and object.
