Field of Mars XCV is a quiet, restrained artwork with strong presence. The gentle tones – rose, beige, light ocher, white, and gold accents – almost resemble naturally aged surfaces. The result is a harmonious balance of structure and color that integrates especially well into calm spaces.

At first glance, the painting appears homogeneous, almost calm. But up close, a fascinating world of tiny paint fragments opens up – from dust-fine to several millimeters in size. The surface comes alive through the play of light dancing across the fragments and casting subtle shadows. This creates an almost three-dimensional effect that shifts with the viewer’s perspective.

Like all works in the Field of Mars series, this painting was also created from collected paint residues. The unusual technique not only produces a striking texture, but also alludes to recycling, transformation, and the tension between old and new.
