The landscape as an experiment.

"Field of Mars LXXVII" measures 70 × 50 cm, consists of paint residues and emerged from an experiment. The paint residues used for this painting are colourful. Acrylic paints, oil paints and lacquer remnants interact in the most diverse variations of colour, shape and size. The sizes of the paint residues range from very fine dust to paint chunks with a diameter of approx. 0.5 cm. It is the differences in size of the paint residues that allow for a composition – in this case a crater landscape from a bird’s-eye view. Below are some key facts about the painting.

Interesting "painting" made from paint residues.

From a distance, the work initially appears to depict an earthy or sandy, beach-like surface. As you take a few steps toward the painting, you realize that the work is completely colorful and made up of small paint residues. The interesting painting becomes more concrete the longer you look at it: in your mind, wind and water emerge, and eventually the morphology of a crater in the landscape. The dried paint on the palette – the "past" painting – serves as a stylistic device.

The delicate landscape for an intriguing atmosphere at home.

"Marsfeld LXXVII" makes the strongest impression in a bright room. The unusual spatiality – the haptics (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional) – creates a very interesting atmosphere that can only be gradually explored. The spatial effect is extremely subtle, so this painting emanates a very delicate, elegant, and stimulating presence. The fine landscape measures 70 x 50 cm.

The Field of Mars works can also be presented in series.

Good to know.

Binder as an adhesive.

The special adhesivesThe cotton and the binder used in these experiments ensure that the paint residues adhere very well to the canvas. If individual paint residues do happen to fall off - perhaps due to transport or curious children's fingers - it is not a big deal: All 'Mars Field' paintings consist of multiple layers. adhered paint residueso that the canvas remains covered even with minor damage.

Paintings on the website.

I always strive to present an authentic representation of my work on the website. The photographs of the paintings are taken in the studio or next door in the living room.Nonetheless, the colors you see on your monitor may slightly differ from the actual colors on the painting. The images presenting the painting in the room were generated using the "Smartist" app. This app displays paintings in the exact correct proportions to the room and can also make artworks appear framed in any style.
