Painting on the paint box becomes modern art: “At Vesuvius.”
The mental leaps that the paint box already triggers as a symbol can be made more concrete through the title. The title “At Vesuvius” is an invitation to steer your own associations in a different direction without losing your personal touch. The result of the experimental painting that symbolic power of the paint box, as well as the guidance provided by the title ("Am Vesuv") invite you to make associations. Once imagination is sparked, it allows you to abstract what you see in a very personal and multifaceted way. The painting thus becomes a source of personal inspiration.
Modern art between painting and sculpture.
Painting on the oversized paint box creates a colorful, very modern wall sculpture. Through the juxtaposition of graceful color fields, there develop tensions in form and color. On one side, the warm colors yellow, orange, and red as well as white, and the cool colors green, blue, violet, plus brown and black. These colors, perhaps in a different order, can be found in almost every paint box. On the other side, the “used” paint box pans, the colorful spaces in between, and the colored border area, where white, red, green, and violet appear once again. The spatial effect of the colors is further enhanced by the shadows cast by the paint box. Through the symbolism of the paint box, a painting emerges that can be classified in the category of “modern art.”
The canvas as the foundation for the paintbox.
The oversized paint box was constructed from wooden slats, cup lids and a canvas. The paint box "At Vesuvius" measures 31.5 x 31.5 x 1.6 inches and was founded in 2021 in Wiesbaden.
I glued and screwed the canvas together using different types of slats. The small round color compartments are deep cup lids. The lids were framed with wooden strips of equal height, the resulting gaps were filled with mounting foam and sealed with cardboard before being glued onto the canvas. To create a surface that looks as real as possible, the paint containers and paint-box compartments are coated with Primed with adhesive concrete and thick layers of acrylic paint ...The priming was then sealed with glue.
Acrylic and oil paints were used for the painting of the artwork.
Good to know about presenting the painting "Am Vesuv".
There is no “top” or “bottom”; the painting can be displayed in any orientation. That’s why it has been signed on the back. The matte varnish protects the artwork from color changes. If desired, I can paint over the matte varnish with a gloss varnish. You will achieve optimal presentation if there is space around the painting. The wall width (including the painting) should be at least 1.5 and at most 4 meters.
Free shipping for the artwork.
