A refined kind of art – Field of Mars.
This delicate abstract artwork measures 40 x 30 cm and consists of paint remnants and binder. The paint remnants used for this painting are colorful. Acrylic paints, oil paints, and leftover lacquer interact in the most diverse variations of color, form, and size. The sizes of the paint remnants range from very fine dust to paint crumbs of about 0.3 cm in diameter. It is the differences in size of the paint remnants that allow for a composition. In this way, art can be presented in a modern manner.
An experiment using leftover paint from the palette – as a stylistic device.
From a distance, the work at first appears to depict an earthy or sandy, beach-like surface. As you take a few steps towards the painting, you realise that the work is completely colourful and consists of small, fine paint remnants from the palette. The wave structure was created through an experiment. It becomes visible only through a recurring, line-like accumulation of larger chunks of paint.
A small-format painting offers a modern ambience.
“Field of Mars L” is a small-format painting and makes the strongest impression in a bright room. The unusual sense of space – the delicate tactile quality (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional) – creates a very original ambience that can only be fully explored over time. The spatial effect is extremely subtle, giving the painting a very elegant and stimulating presence. It comes into its own best in a small room, in a hallway, on a staircase wall or in a niche.

The Field of Mars works can also be presented in rows.
Fine contemporary art with leftover paint.
Contemporary art is not accessible to everyone, especially in this unobtrusive, very subtle form. Nevertheless, the result of experimental painting can spark curiosity. The juxtaposition of old (Paint residues) and new (Painting) and the Title "Field of Mars" - incidentally, a place of political debate in ancient Rome - evokes associations with the terms "Mars" and "field."
