“On the Road” – color as movement
The work “Unterwegs” (On the Road) is part of the series “Der Farbkasten” (The Paintbox) and transfers a familiar motif into an independent, abstract visual language. The title refers to change, transitions and movement – themes that are reflected in the open, dynamic composition.
Colour, structure and rhythm
The arrangement of colour fields and paint pans creates a tension-filled structure of contrasts and transitions. Strong, partly overlapping colours meet calmer areas and generate a visual dynamic between order and dissolution. The multi-layered surface with visible traces, condensations and colour gradients reinforces this impression.
Painting as object
Through its relief-like construction, the work goes beyond the classical picture plane and develops a distinct spatial presence. Light and shadow continuously alter the perception and turn the object into an active component of the space.
