The colorful painting shows an abstract animal motif: the bee made of color fields.

"Rare Bee" from the series “Out of the Light” shows colorful Color fields, strokes, drops of paint, and imprints made with water-mixable oil paint. The color fields create a abstract composition that at the same time suggests a bee. The lightness of the animal motif in the painting arises above all from the reduced style of painting.

The ease of painting leads to the magical.

The lightness of the painting arises from the brightness of the white-primed canvas in combination with the colorful, gracefully applied color fields. Together they create a stimulating, seemingly random composition. The grace of the color fields is crucial for the calm yet lively perception of the composition, as it allows the viewer to shift perspective even after looking for a longer time. Parts of the color fields define the form of the bee, while the colors – in part – convey spatial depth. The magic emerges between the concrete outline of the bee and the abstract composition of the color fields.

The contemplation of abstract painting and the concrete subject creates an interplay of perception.

Although the painting is experimental, it is still “reined in” at certain boundaries. The outline of the bee acts as a kind of barrier when mixing the colours. This ensures that the motif remains perceptible in any case. The choice of colours is also not entirely random: the animal motif is shown in the colours of itself and its environment. In this way, spontaneous compositions of form and colour arise within the framework of a concept. Since the motif is constructed only across part of the boundaries of the colour mixtures, the eye repeatedly shifts back to the abstract overall composition.

Interesting facts about contemporary painting in “Seltene Biene” (“Rare Bee”).

Despite the many colors, the modern animal motif has a rather subtle effect and can be appreciated both from a distance and up close.

The painting is signed, and the edges are painted white. The artwork can therefore be displayed immediately – with two nails in the wall. If you would prefer to have a frame made for the painting, I recommend visiting a specialist shop near you or ordering a frame online (30 × 24 cm is a standard size, so the range of available frames will be very large).

The presentation of the artwork is authentic, but not perfect.

The photos you see above were taken by me to the best of my ability. Since I'm not a professional photographer, the colors you see may slightly differ from the original. The lighting and resolution could also be better in some areas. I strive to provide an authentic representation of the artworks.

The photos showing the painting in the room were created using the app "Smartist." This app can frame paintings and allows for a neat, stylish presentation in different rooms. The size ratio of the painting to the room is accurately represented. The painting is sold without a frame.

Feel free to visit me at the studio or at ARTLET if you'd like to take a look at the original.
