RE 23 – Fragments of Finding
When color becomes the trace of a moment.
The work
RE 23 is a quiet discovery. On a 40 × 30 cm canvas, a color fragment unfolds that rests on the white like a memory. The broad, organic application of paint resembles a geological sediment of the artistic process – as if something found had become visible here that was not sought.
The dark blues, browns, and greens feel earthy, almost archaic, while the texture suggests a depth that is more than surface. Here, it is not the act of painting that is revealed – but the aftereffect. The fragment points to a larger whole that remains only hinted at.
Magic in minimalism
RE 23 quietly yet powerfully speaks of the beauty in the fragmentary. The magic of this work lies in the incomplete, in the process – in the “no-longer” and the “not-yet.” It is an artwork for those with an eye for the invisible.
