Station – A stop in blue
A paint-box painting full of calm and depth
“Station” (50 × 75 × 4 cm, 2014) is a work that relies entirely on the impact of blue. Different nuances – from light sky blue to deep ultramarine and violet transitions – dominate the composition. Thickly applied surfaces and irregular structures create an impression of movement, like water or clouds drifting by.
The arrangement of the fields is reminiscent of a bus stop or a moment of pausing: an intermediate stop full of intensity. “Station” is a painting of calm and concentration – at once clearly structured and full of inner movement.
Sold – and now in private ownership
This work belongs to the series “The Paintbox” and is now in a private collection. “Station” vividly shows how Mark Hellbusch understands color as a place, a moment, and an experience.
