A source of inspiration in art: the colorful paint box.
The leaps of thought that the paint box as a symbol evokes lead many viewers back to childhood. The title “The Farewell” is an invitation to steer your own associations in a different direction without losing your personal touch. The colorful paint box, art of a very unusual kind, becomes a source of inspiration – from concrete to abstract.
The canvas as a foundation for the large-format color palette.
The large-format paint box was constructed from wooden slats, small canvases, a large canvas and chipboard. The painting object "Der Abschied" measures 92 x 122 x 3 cm and was created in 2012 in Mainz. I first glued and partially screwed together the chipboard and the different types of slats. The color compartments are modified small canvases. To create a surface that looks as real as possible, they were primed with adhesive concrete and thick layers of acrylic paint and then “sealed” with glue. Acrylic and oil paints, glue, as well as a final varnish were used to paint and finish the work.
Fields of tension in form and color – abstract painting on the paintbox.
With abstract painting on the oversized paint box, modern object art emerges – a painted sculpture for the wall. Through the juxtaposition of graceful color fields, there arise Tensions in Form and Color . On one side, the primary colors yellow, red and blue accompanied by orange, green, black, pink, brown and white. These colors can be seen in this or a similar form on almost every paint box. On the other side, the “used” paint box pans, the colorful spaces in between and the colored border area. The spatial effect of the colors through contrasts is further enhanced by the resulting (real) shadows of the box.
Free shipping
Delivery (Wiesbaden and surrounding area) or shipping of the artwork is free of charge worldwide. During (Hessian) school holidays there may be delays due to vacation. Delivery breaks are communicated in the header of the homepage.
The abstract image can be presented in any orientation - it has no "top" or "bottom".
There is no “top” or “bottom”; the abstract painting can be displayed in any orientation. That is why the painting or painting object has been signed on the back. A varnish protects the artwork from colour changes. If there is a lot of light opposite the painting sculpture – for example from a window – the gloss varnish should be replaced with a matte varnish. You will achieve optimal presentation if there is space around the painting. The width of the wall surface (including the painting) should be at least 3 metres and at most 6 metres.
