Abstract art from paint remnants.
The paint remnants used for this landscape painting come from a dried paint palette. Acrylic paints, oil paints, and leftover varnishes interact in various color, shape, and size combinations to create an abstract image. The paint remnants compositionally form a Whirlpool. From a distance, this art initially appears earthy or sandy. However, the whirlpool can already be recognized by its stronger texture. It is created at the spot merely by the size change of the paint remnants. As you take a few steps closer to the painting, you notice that all the paint remnants are equally colorful.
A small-format, abstract landscape for the niche.
"Field of Mars CXII" is a small-format painting. It is best displayed in a small room, hallway, on the stairs, or in a niche. The unusual spatiality—the genuine texture (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional)—in conjunction with the simple composition creates a very original atmosphere that can only be gradually explored. The spatial and compositional effect is extremely subtle, so that this landscape exudes a very fine, elegant, and stimulating effect.
Atmosphere in the living space with art in vertical or horizontal rows.
This type of art looks very elegant in vertical or horizontal rows. In this way, larger rooms can also be decorated and a special atmosphere in the living space can be unfolded. For pictures hanging next to each other, it is important to note that the diversity is crucial. The crater appearing yellow-brown from a distance, between beach-like reddish wave structures and a grayish whirlpool, is more inspiring to the eye than several craters of the same size next to each other. These can quickly be overlooked as a pattern.
Interesting facts about the unique "Field of Mars CXII"
The special adhesive for cotton and the binder used for this experiment ensure very good adhesion of the paint remnants to the canvas. If individual paint remnants do fall off—perhaps due to transport or curious children's fingers—it's not dramatic: All "Field of Mars" paintings consist of multiple layers of glued paint remnants, so the canvas remains covered even with slight damage.
I always strive to present an authentic image of my works on the website. The photos of the paintings are taken in the studio or next door in the living room. However, the colors you see on your monitor may slightly differ from the actual colors on the painting. The photos presenting the painting in a room are generated via the "Smartist" app. This app presents paintings in the exact correct size ratio to the room and can also make artworks appear framed as desired.
Small-format art at an introductory price.
The price is also interesting: The paintings in the "Field of Mars" series are not cheap, but extremely affordable in relation to their quality. For one person, this means a relatively risk-free entry into the world of art. For another, perhaps the opportunity to decorate smaller rooms in a modern, interesting, and affordable way. With this type of art, you make a subtle statement. The paint remnants alone as a defining element give your decor something very original. Don't hesitate to request an art consultation from me.
