"Claim 96" from the "Organic Grounds" series – modern pExperimental painting leads to the abstract landscape.
The seemingly chaotic application of paint creates an “organic” field that is “staked out” by the size of the painting. Thus the title “Claim 96” is to be understood in relation to the picture surface (75 x 65 cm). The work was created using a mixed technique, consisting of acrylic paint, water-mixable oil paint and varnish. Strictly speaking, the term “painted” does not quite apply to this technique. The paints were rather thrown and splashed, so this is experimental painting that, through the painting process, leads to an abstract landscape.
Above all in green and pink – the color gradient.
To control the spatial effect, the throwing of the paint – and thus the flow of color – is repeatedly interrupted for drying phases. The experimental application of paint is repeated with different colors until a natural variety in color and structure emerges. Above all green and pink, but also red, yellow, orange, blue, violet, black and white blend here in a complex way and, through their differently long flows (dot-like and small at the top of the image, linear and large at the bottom), create a perceptible sense of space. The eye keeps lingering on the pattern-free structures, stimulating the viewer in an unfamiliar way. The result is a painting in atmospheric colors for a living space with character.
Interesting facts about the painting “Claim 96.”
Despite the many colors, “Claim 96” has a rather subtle overall effect and can be enjoyed both from a distance (perception of spatial depth) and up close (variety of structure and color).
The mixed technique.
"Claim 96" is signed, and the edges are painted white. The artwork can therefore be displayed immediately – with two nails in the wall. The painting needs neither a frame nor a varnish – though it can of course have one. I would apply a varnish for you before shipping. You can choose between matte, satin-matte, or glossy. However, this is not a recommendation. The mixed media technique creates varying degrees of light reflection in the color gradients, which I personally find very stimulating. In addition, the paints sold nowadays are almost non-yellowing. For a frame, I recommend visiting a specialist shop near you.
