LOL – Colors with a Wink

Playful composition full of energy

“LOL” (80 × 110 × 4 cm, 2019) is a work that captures humor and lightness in abstract form. In strong shades of pink, yellow, blue and green, a playful color composition unfolds that almost resembles a colorful emoji – immediate, cheeky and full of zest for life.

The top row of round paint wells looks like a palette of emotions, while the lower areas create dynamism and tension through diagonal divisions. Impasto structures, traces of mixing, and flowing transitions make the work tangible to the touch. “LOL” is a painting that invites a smile and fills any room with its positive energy.

This work belongs to the series “The Paint Box” and is now part of a private collection. “LOL” stands for the playful side of Mark Hellbusch’s art – carefree, lively and full of joy in experimentation.
