Carnival – Colors in a state of exception

A square paint-box painting full of joie de vivre

“Fastnacht” (80 × 80 cm, 2020) lives up to its title: a festival of colors, wild, exuberant, and full of energy. Radiant pink, strong blue, intense yellow, and rich green surge across the canvas, mix, collide – and create an atmosphere that recalls exuberant moments, colorful costumes, and loud music.

The three-dimensional surface of the paint box shows traces of layering, impasto structures, and spontaneous movements. It is a painting that does not stand still, but dances – a visual celebration that gives any room a powerful accent.

Sold – and now in private ownership

This work belongs to the series “The Paint Box” and is now in a private collection. “Fastnacht” is exemplary of the vibrancy and expressiveness that characterize Mark Hellbusch’s work and makes it clear: art can be just as free and exuberant as life itself.
