A source of inspiration in art: the large-format paint box “Gesprächsrunde” (Conversation Round).
The leaps of thought that the paint box generates as a symbol lead many viewers back toward childhood. The title "Gesprächsrunde" is an invitation to steer one’s own associations in a different direction without losing the personal touch. The large-format paint box, painted in bright colors, becomes a source of inspiration – from concrete to abstract.
The canvas as the base for the large painting object.
The large paint box was built from wooden slats, small canvases, and chipboard. The painting object "Conversation Circle" measures 101 x 101 x 2 cm and was created in 2014 in Mainz. I first glued the paint box together using a chipboard and different types of slats and partially screwed them together. The color wells are modified small canvases. To create a surface that looks as real as possible, they were covered with lightweight panels and scraped before being painted. Thick layers of acrylic paint were used for the priming before being “sealed” with glue. Acrylic and oil paints, glue, and a final varnish were used for painting and finishing the artwork.
Art between painting and object.
With my experimental painting on the oversized paint box, modern abstract object art emerges: a painted sculpture for the wall. Through the juxtaposition of graceful color fields Tension fields in form and color . On one side, the primary colors yellow, red, and blue accompanied by orange, green, black, pink, and white. These colors can be seen in this or a similar form on almost every paintbox. On the other side, the "used" paintbox compartments, the colorful gaps, and the colored edge area. The spatial, partly complementary effect of the colors is further enhanced by the shadows cast by the box. The result of this kind of art can be described as a wall sculpture.
What moves me as an artist – associations and imagination through art.
The result of the experimental art that Symbolic power of the paint box as well as the guidance offered by a title ("Gesprächsrunde" – “Discussion Round”) invite you to associate freely. When imagination – once sparked – is stimulated in many different ways in the viewer, that moves me as an artist.

Useful information on how to present the painting "Discussion Round".
There is no “top” or “bottom”; “Gesprächsrunde” can be displayed in any orientation. That’s why the painting is signed on the back. The glossy varnish protects the artwork from color changes. If there is a lot of light opposite the wall sculpture – for example from windows – I can replace the gloss varnish with a matte varnish. You will achieve optimal presentation of the painting if there is space around it. The width of the wall surface (including the painting) should be at least 2.5 and at most 5 meters.
