A green painting between calm and dynamism
"Edward" is a work that contains contrasts within itself: on one side calm green areas, on the other powerful, curved forms reminiscent of cloud shadows. The composition arises from lighter and darker layers that lie on top of each other, creating an atmosphere of depth and movement.
The painting evokes the shadows of a rotating tornado – an image of dynamism that appears both modern and pared down.
Abstraction becomes concrete
Naming plays a special role in the series In the End Green. Just as low-pressure weather systems are given names, the paintings are called “Edward”, “Martina” or “Paul”. This brings people and nature closer together: what seems abstract becomes immediately concrete.
Effect with light
For the subtle structures and color depth to be perceived, “Edward” needs light. A bright room or a directed spotlight makes the painting appear sophisticated and modern.
Organic structures from nature
The priming was created from thick layers of acrylic paint into which leaves and twigs were worked. After sanding and sealing, the painting in oil colors followed, in layers of green, ocher, brown, yellow, and blue. These overlays create a depth that recalls the complexity of nature – and ultimately of ourselves as well.
