The idea behind the "Field of Mars"
The Marsfeld series is inspired by the themes of minimalism, transformation and harmony. The term “Field of Mars” refers to historical places of assembly, conflict and order and is reinterpreted here in the language of art. In Marsfeld CXXVII, the layered paint residues represent the tension between chaos and structure and symbolize the power of renewal.
Change, minimalism and harmony
Through the precise layering of paint remnants, a minimalist composition emerges that embodies calm and movement at the same time. The dense texture invites you to explore the organic forms and the dynamics of the colours, staged through a modern, abstract perspective.
Colors and textures: a dialogue between order and vitality
The surface of Field of Mars CXXVII is characterized by a fine, dense structure reminiscent of natural patterns such as sediment layers or sandy coastal landscapes. The earthy base tones stand for stability, while luminous accents symbolize movement and energy. This harmonious color palette opens a journey through dimensions in which light, shadow and meaning merge.
Minimalism and light: a journey through dimensions
The reduced color palette in combination with the precise layering creates a fascinating play of light and shadow. This painting invites the viewer to reflect on nature, inner transformation, and the aesthetic clarity of minimalist art.
For collectors and lovers of contemporary art

The artist Mark Hellbusch – Minimalism and modernity in art
Since 1997 I have been working as a freelance artist and have explored painting in many different ways. While I initially focused on expressive painting, today my focus is on experimental art and minimalist design. In the Field of Mars series, my fascination with texture, structure and transformation is reflected.
My works combine the principles of minimalism with the power of color and material. If you would like to learn more about my artistic background, you will find further information in the “About me” section.
