A paint-box painting full of depth

“Forest” (90 × 100 × 4 cm, 2014) unfolds a clear, almost architectural structure. On the left, color fields in earthy browns, rich greens, and bright blues line up – like the elements of a forest. On the right, large areas in red, white, and blue open up, resembling clearings.

The composition plays with contrasts: density and openness, dark and light, structure and freedom. Thickly applied surfaces, traces of the painting process, and small accidental inclusions make the work feel alive. “Wald” invites you to experience color as landscape – as a place of calm and at the same time mysterious energy.

Sold – and now in private ownership

This work from the series “The Paintbox” is now in a private collection. “Forest” impressively shows how Mark Hellbusch creates depth and space with simple means – abstract, yet full of associations with nature.
