Into the Blue – Immersing in color
A monumental paint-box painting full of depth
“Into the Blue” (120 × 150 × 4 cm, 2012) is a work that lives up to its title. Dominant areas of strong blue and luminous yellow structure the painting, while red, violet and green accents set rhythmic contrasts.
The composition leads the eye from smaller, detailed mixed fields in the upper area down to large, thickly painted color blocks at the bottom. This creates an interplay of control and freedom, order and lightness – like a leap into the unknown that is nevertheless supported by trust and energy. “Ins Blaue” conveys vitality, openness, and an almost meditative depth.
Sold – and now in private ownership
This work belongs to the series “The Paint Box” and is now part of a private collection. “Into the Blue” is exemplary of the expressive power of large-format paint-box paintings by Mark Hellbusch – abstract, sensual and expansive.
