"Rare Beaver" from the picture series “Out of the Light” shows colorful color fields. The color fields create an abstract composition that suggests a beaver. The artwork appears very modern in its reduced lightness.

The lightness of the painting leads to the magical.

The lightness of the painting arises from the brightness of the white-primed canvas in combination with the earthy, gracefully applied color fields. Together they create an engaging, seemingly random composition. The grace of the color fields is crucial for the calm yet lively perception of the composition, as it allows the viewer to shift perspective even after prolonged viewing. Parts of the color fields define the beaver’s form, while the colors – in part – convey spatial depth. The magic emerges between the concrete outline of the beaver and the abstract composition of the color fields.

The contemplation of abstract painting and specific motifs creates an interplay of perception.

The painting may be experimental, but it is nevertheless “reined in” at certain boundaries. The outline of the beaver acts as a kind of barrier when mixing the colors. This ensures that the motif remains perceptible. The choice of colors is also not entirely random: the animal motif is shown in the colors of itself and its environment. In this way, spontaneous compositions of form and color arise within the framework of a concept. Since the motif is constructed only across part of the boundaries of the color blends, the eye repeatedly shifts back to the abstract overall composition.

Interesting facts about the contemporary painting in “Rare Beaver”.

Despite the many colors, the modern animal motif "Seltener Biber" is rather subtle in its effect and can be enjoyed both from a distance and up close.

The glazes in painting provide a high color depth.

The painting "Rare Beaver" is signed, and the edges are painted white. The artwork can therefore be displayed immediately – with two nails in the wall. If you would prefer to have a frame made for the painting, I recommend visiting a specialist shop near you or ordering a frame online (40 x 30 cm is a standard size, so the range of frames will be very large).

The presentation of the artwork is authentic, but not perfect.

The photos you see above were taken by me to the best of my ability. Since I'm not a professional photographer, the colors you see might slightly differ from the originals. The lighting and resolution could certainly be better here and there. I strive to provide an authentic representation of the artworks.

The photos showing the painting in the room were created using the app 'Smartist.' This app can frame paintings and allows for a neat and stylish presentation in different rooms. The size ratio of the painting to the room is accurately represented. The painting is sold without a frame..
