A new work from the series “Remnants of an Experiment”

The painting “RE 17” is a new artwork from my ongoing series “Remnants of an Experiment.” This work is based on the creative leftovers of an earlier project called “Organic Grounds,” in which organic color gradients and patterns played a central role. “RE 17” uses these “remnants” to create a dense, colorful structure that captivates the viewer’s gaze.

RE 17 as an eye-catcher: Art for large spaces

With its dimensions of 100 x 140 cm, “RE 17” is an ideal artwork for larger spaces. Its colorful design makes it a dominant presence and invites you to engage more deeply with its details. The painting unfolds its full impact especially in bright, open rooms, infusing the space with energy and vibrancy.

A work related to the “Organic Grounds” series

The colors and patterns in “RE 17” are not chosen at random. They are based on the remnants of my earlier project “Organic Grounds,” which dealt intensively with the natural arrangement and flow of colors. The dense color dots visible in “RE 17” emerged from the creative process of this project and give the work a deeper meaning and connection to nature. The painting shows two glued-together and framed color fields from the "Organic Grounds" series.

Colour dots in focus: the structure of the painting

Every single dab of paint in “RE 17” contributes to the unique structure of the work. The dots seem to dance across the canvas and change their effect depending on the viewing angle and the incidence of light. This dynamic structure gives the painting a lively and almost tangible quality that sets the space in motion.

Colors and details: Harmony in diversity

Although “RE 17” may seem chaotic at first glance, it is a carefully orchestrated interplay of colors. The seemingly random arrangement of dots reveals a surprising harmony upon closer inspection. It is this duality of chance and order that makes “RE 17” so exciting.

The series “Remnants of an Experiment”: Art from traces and leftovers

“RE 17” is part of my series “Remnants of an Experiment,” which is based on reinterpreting traces and leftovers from creative processes. What once counted as a color test or experiment becomes the centerpiece of a new artwork in this series. “RE 17” shows how creative coincidences and supposed remnants can give rise to a unique composition.
