RE 21 – remnants write history
When traces of chance become the language of art.
The story behind the colors
“RE 21” (2025, 50 × 50 cm) is a one-of-a-kind piece composed purely of color, chance and time. Originally created as the reverse side of an experimental surface, this section was transformed into a new work. The remnants of a process tell their own story here – raw, immediate, and powerfully colorful.
Between painting and material traces
In this work it becomes clear how seemingly incidental paint imprints condense into an intense visual experience. Layers of turquoise, pink, black, violet, yellow and white dance in fluid motion across the rotated canvas. Part of the original edge has been deliberately left visible – as a reminder of what came before.
Presentation with depth
Framed in simple white, the work can be viewed like a color-soaked artifact. The distance between painting and background creates a lively shadow effect – almost as if the work were glowing out of its own past. The story of the remnants is given space, form – and expression.
