RE 23 – Fragments of Finding
When color becomes the trace of a moment.
The work
RE 23 is a quiet discovery. On a 40 × 30 cm canvas, a color fragment unfolds that rests on the white like a memory. The broad, organic application of paint resembles a geological sediment of the artistic process – as if something found had become visible here that was not being sought.
The dark blues, browns, and greens appear earthy, almost archaic, while the texture points to a depth that is more than surface. What is revealed here is not the act of painting – but its aftereffect. The fragment points to a larger whole that remains only suggested.
Magic in minimalism
RE 23 speaks quietly yet insistently of the beauty in the fragmentary. The magic of this work lies in the incomplete, in the processual – in the “no-longer” and “not-yet.” It is an artwork for people with an eye for the invisible.
