RE 28 – Clown in the Color Space (30 x 24 cm)
“RE 28” is an abstract painting from 2025 that moves in the in-between space of chance and intention. On a small canvas measuring 30 x 24 cm, colored traces, splashes and concentrations unfold as a color space from which the portrait of a clown unexpectedly emerges – fragile, playful and at the same time enigmatic. This work invites you to look closely and discover the unexpected.
A clown made of color and perception
At first, the luminous color fields in red, yellow, blue, green and violet seem freely scattered, almost incidental. Yet with every look, a figure begins to take shape. Eyes, mouth and expression do not emerge through clear lines, but through the interplay of paint remnants and empty spaces. The clown does not appear bold and obvious, but as a poetic suggestion – an image between cheerfulness and contemplation.
Between chance and intention
RE 28 is part of an experimental approach in which chance is consciously allowed. Drops, running pigments and spontaneous applications of color form the basis from which an unexpected pictorial idea develops in the process. It is precisely this tension that makes the painting special: it is neither planned nor arbitrary, but a quiet dialogue between control and letting go, between experiment and deliberate decision.
