Redwind and Elephant – African painting in earth tones

This large-format painting shows the monumental presence of an elephant against the backdrop of a vast, reddish shimmering landscape. Executed in the technique of the Redwind series, fossil structures, rough surfaces and glazed layers of red, brown and black merge into an almost archaic visual language.

The elephant seems to emerge from the wall – powerful and at the same time mysterious – embedded in a scene reminiscent of the African savannas. The rough surface with traces of leaves, twigs, and organic materials gives the painting depth and relief, creating the impression that this animal from ancient times has been projected directly onto the canvas.

The composition lives from the contrast between the clearly recognizable elephant motif and the abstract, earthy texture. The play of light and shadow in warm red tones intensifies the atmosphere of heat, vastness, and archaic wilderness.
