A monumental paint-box painting full of movement and depth

With “The Journey”, a monumental work unfolds across a width of 2 meters – a play of color and form that reaches beyond the paint box and symbolically stands for departure, change, and inner movement. In this oversized object painting, delicate pastel tones merge with strong earth colors, interspersed with luminous orange, violet, blue-green, and muted yellow.

Like stages of a journey, the color fields are divided into sequences, develop a rhythm, follow no rigid order – instead they seem to have arisen spontaneously and at the same time be deeply felt. The three-dimensional surface, the visible traces of the painting process, the overlaps and breakthroughs – all this lends the work emotional depth and a tangible history.

Sold – and now in private ownership

This large-format work from the series „Der Farbkasten“ is now part of a private collection. It is exemplary of the artistic idea of elevating the tool of painting – the paintbox – to a work of art in its own right. “Die Reise” vividly shows how the connection between painting and object opens up new narrative spaces.
