A Source of Inspiration in Art: Colorful Paintings on the Paintbox.
The leaps in thought that the paint box symbolizes often lead viewers back to their childhood. The title "Summer" invites one to steer associations in a different direction without losing the personal touch. The colorful paint box becomes a source of inspiration - from the concrete to the abstract.
Building the Paintbox.
The paint box was made from wooden slats, canvas, and small plant saucers. The wall sculpture "Summer" measures 31.5 x 43.3 inches and was established in 2023 in Wiesbaden. First, I glued and screwed together the color swatches, the canvas, and the various types of moldings. Acrylic and oil paints, glue, and binders were used for the painting and processing of the artwork.
The paint box becomes modern, abstract art.
The juxtaposition of graceful color fields creates tensions in form and color. Through experimental painting on the oversized color box, modern abstract art emerges as a wall sculpture. The result of the experimental painting, the symbolic power of the color box as well as the assistance of a title ("Summer") invite one to make associations. Once the imagination is sparked, it can be stimulated in a variety of ways for the viewer.
