The experimental landscape painting "Marsfeld LIV" measures 30 x 24 cm and is made from leftover paint and binder. The leftover paints used for this painting are colorful. Acrylic paints, oil paints, and varnish remnants interact with each other in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. The paint remnants consist of chips approximately 0.1 cm to 0.2 cm in diameter. It is the gaps and indentations between the paint remnants that create an unusual tactile quality. This allows art to be showcased in a truly unique way. Here are some key details about the painting.
An experimental painting made from paint remnants.
From a distance, the piece initially appears to depict an earthy or sandy surface. As you approach the painting, you realize it’s completely colorful and made up of small paint remnants. The abstract painting becomes more concrete the longer you look at it: in your mind, wind, water, and natural erosion appear.
A small format for the niche in your space.
"Field of Mars LIV" makes the greatest impression in a bright room. The unusual spatiality—the tactile (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional)—creates a special ambience that can only be gradually discovered. The spatial effect is extremely subtle, giving this painting a very fine, elegant, and stimulating quality, which you can purchase at an affordable price. As a single piece, the small format stands out nicely in a niche within the room.

Field of Mars pieces can also be beautifully displayed in vertical or horizontal rows.
This kind of modern art is not accessible to everyone. Nevertheless, the result of experimental painting can spark curiosity. The juxtaposition of old (paint remnants) and new (painting) and the Title "Field of Mars" – incidentally, a place of political debate in ancient Rome – evokes associations with the terms "Mars" and "field."
The presentation of the artwork is authentic, but not perfect..
The photos you see above were taken by me—as best as I could. Since I'm not a professional photographer, the colors you see may differ slightly from the original. The lighting or resolution could certainly be better here and there. I strive to present an authentic image of the artworks.
The photos showing the painting in a room were created using the "Smartist" app. This app can frame paintings and allows for a clean, stylish presentation in different spaces. The size ratio of painting to room is shown exactly.
But feel free to visit me in the studio or at ARTLET if you’d like to see the original.
