Dots and strokes of color give rise to a modern, abstract painting.
The seemingly chaotic application of paint creates a large-format “organic” field that is “staked out” by the size of the painting. This is how the title “Claim 95” is to be understood in relation to the picture surface (120 x 110 cm).
Experimental painting leads to the abstract landscape.
It was painted using a mixed technique consisting of acrylic paint, water-mixable oil paint, and varnish. However, the term “painted” does not quite fit this technique. The colors were more thrown and splattered, so this is experimental painting that, through the painting process, leads to an abstract landscape.
Above all green and violet for a living space with atmosphere.
To control the spatial effect, the throwing of paint – and thus the color gradients – is repeatedly interrupted for drying phases. The experimental application of paint is repeated with different colors until a natural variety in color and structure emerges. Above all green and violet, but also red, yellow, orange, blue, black and white mix here in a complex way and, through their differently long runs (dot-like and small at the top of the painting, linear and large at the bottom), create a perceptible sense of space. The eye repeatedly lingers on the pattern-free structures and stimulates the viewer in an unfamiliar way. The result is a painting in atmospheric colors for a living space with character.
Interesting facts about the painting “Claim 95”.
Despite the many colours, "Claim 95" is rather subtle in its effect and can be enjoyed both from a distance (perception of spatiality) and up close (variety of structure and colour).
“Claim 95” is signed, and the edges are painted white.
