Rare Butterfly – delicate color fields and poetic abstraction

Animal motif between lightness, color and modern painting

“Rare Butterfly” (2024) is a work full of lightness and poetic tension. On a white background, soft green and orange tones unfold, suggesting the shape of a butterfly. Transparent areas and delicate textures allow the animal motif to emerge only fragmentarily – it remains open, light, and fluid like the flutter of wings itself.

The composition thrives on the interplay between concreteness and abstraction. Paint spots and splashes appear spontaneous and free, while the butterfly as a recognizable motif offers calm and orientation. This creates a fascinating dialogue between form, chance and artistic intention.

Sold – and now in private ownership

This work is now part of a private collection. “Rare Butterfly” is a prime example of how Atelier Hellbusch translates the beauty of nature into abstract color spaces while preserving the playful character of painting.
