Animal motif between lightness, color and modern painting

“Seltener Schmetterling” (“Rare Butterfly”) (2024) is a work full of lightness and poetic tension. On a white ground, gentle green and orange tones unfold, suggesting the form of a butterfly. Transparent areas and delicate structures allow the animal motif to emerge only fragmentarily – it remains open, light, and mobile like the wingbeat itself.

The composition thrives on the interplay between concreteness and abstraction. Paint spots and splashes appear spontaneous and free, while the butterfly as a recognizable motif offers calm and orientation. This creates a fascinating dialogue between form, chance and artistic intention.
