„To experiment successfully, you can’t be stingy, otherwise it probably won’t work. New themes in the studio therefore consume a lot of brushes, paints (in tubes, cans, or buckets), paper, cotton, paint rollers, canvases, spatulas, and much more. Sometimes you don’t just want to throw everything away afterwards – it looks so beautiful! And besides, you’d have to go to the dump again. So why not turn it into a “still life”?

Even from apparent chaos and the remnants of an experiment, art can “blossom.” Here, waste is simply another form of inspiration. Old brushes that have already created countless works are given a second chance here to become part of a new art object. Paint cups that once held colours become vibrant wall objects that appeal to the senses. Chunks of paint, cut-up works on paper or paintings glued on top of one another can make the art "work".

The simple wear and tear of working materials sometimes creates interesting or stimulating objects that can be brought together. But it is also my experimental themes such as "Field of Mars", "Organic Grounds" or "Splash!", which quite incidentally became the basis for the series "Reste eines Experiments" (“Remnants of an Experiment”). The remnants that arise during experimentation usually give rise to small art objects and works.
