A composition like a sandy thought
“Field of Mars XCVIII” is a painting that virtually vibrates – not through movement, but through the density of its texture. The layers built up from paint residues create a micro-fine surface that recalls sand, yet on closer inspection shines in many colours.
Between geology and painting
This work balances elegantly between the impression of a natural relief and the human gesture of artistic condensation. The structures appear like sedimented time, creating a subtle rhythm of sheen, grain, and color.
Perfect for rooms with depth and character
“Marsfeld XCVIII” is tailor-made for interiors that want to combine visual calm with meaning. The nuanced texture invites you to linger and offers ever new visual discoveries – depending on light, distance and perspective.
Art from paint residues – deliberate and sensuous
Like all Field of Mars works, this piece was created in the Hellbusch studio from collected, dried, and sieved leftover paint. From remnants emerges a new unity, a new story – consciously resource-efficient and at the same time powerful in its aesthetics.
