The painting series “Aus dem Licht” (“From the Light”) brings abstract color fields into a surprising composition that, in this work, takes the form of a crab. The colors seem to come together by chance to form a motif, allowing the viewer a constant interplay between the concrete and the abstract.

Creation of the modern painting “Seltene Krabbe”

The work is based on the technique of experimental paint application. The white-primed canvas lends the painting a special lightness, while the applied colors – luminous green, warm yellows, and earthy accents – create a tension-filled interplay.

Uniqueness and symbolism of the work

The expressive painting style leaves room for free interpretation. While the outline of the crab serves as a deliberate boundary, the choice of colors emphasizes the animal’s surroundings and the idea of chance and evolution that runs through the entire collection.
