Die Palette – Abstract wall objects and object art made of colour

The palette is the place where painting begins. This is where colours are mixed, altered, discarded and reinvented. What is normally just a tool becomes a work of art in its own right in this series. The works are created on oversized palettes that are constructed as independent wall objects. Over the years, layers of paint, traces and overlays accumulate. In this way, works emerge between abstract painting, relief and object art. Anyone wishing to discover contemporary art online or buy abstract art will find works here that make the creative process visible while at the same time opening up independent visual worlds. Experimental Painting The works in this series are created without a predetermined motif. Color is applied, layered, shifted, and condensed. Structures emerge, disappear again, and develop new relationships. Many works deliberately operate in the field of experimental painting. They do not follow a predetermined pictorial concept but develop their own dynamic. In the process, surprising colour harmonies, tensions and pictorial spaces emerge that cannot be planned. Each palette thus becomes a unique one-of-a-kind piece between chance and deliberate decision. Discover hidden images Seen up close, the works reveal material, structure, and relief. From a little distance, entirely different impressions often emerge. Some viewers discover landscapes, figures or movements. Others recognise memories, moods or places. The works remain open to different perceptions and change with every look. It is precisely this openness that constitutes a key part of their appeal. The search for the title The palettes often show nothing concrete at first. Only after prolonged viewing do associations begin to emerge. Once a work functions, the search for a suitable title begins. I let myself be guided by what is suggested in the layers of paint: moods, memories, possible stories or images that suddenly become visible. The title does not explain the work. Rather, it opens up an additional space for personal discoveries. Colour, material and space The palettes have a strong spatial presence. Light and shadow change their effect over the course of the day. Thick layers of paint, subtle transitions and relief-like structures are perceived differently depending on the viewing distance. This results in wall objects that are not only viewed, but actively enter into a relationship with the space.
