The large-format painting “Jane” was created in 2005 in Berlin and belongs to my series “Hunters”. In this series I explore the themes of competition, observation and human behavior.

Expressive oil painting: powerful portrait.
The artwork “Jane” shows an ambitious woman with pale skin, pursed lips and a practical hairstyle. Judging by her lack of sensuality, she also seems to have difficulty freeing herself from everyday competitive thinking in her free time.
With the portrait "Jane", owners and viewers are repeatedly prompted to engage in discussion. There can also be a playful element in these conversations.
Good to know about "Jane"
The portrait "Jane" was created in 2005 in Berlin. She has no personal significance for me, but—as with almost all portraits from the "Hunters" series—came into my hands by chance. An advertising photo, an information brochure, a report—portraits are shown everywhere. Some trigger thoughts in me about "competition," which I then use.

Preparations for Painting
First, a chipboard panel was primed with cement and given texture. This creates a well-protected, unusual surface to paint on. After drying, it was completely coated with a layer of glue and then screwed onto a special three-dimensional canvas. The construction for the canvas consists of staggered stretcher frames. This results in a kind of "stepped pyramid" as the canvas.
Free Shipping
