Claim 173 – Expressive abstract painting in luminous colors

 

A vibrating color space between energy, movement and depth

Claim 173 is an expressive abstract painting characterized by a highly condensed structure of paint splatters, drips, and flowing overlays. The picture surface appears like a pulsating fabric in which dynamism, chance, and painterly control merge into a multi-layered color space. Dominant reds in the upper area create an intense, energetic tension, while cooler blues and greens in the lower pictorial space provide depth and visual grounding. Yellow, white, and multicolored accents run through the composition like organic connections and reinforce the impression of a living, growing system. The painting deliberately dispenses with a central motif. Instead, its impact unfolds in the abundance of details and the rhythmic repetition of color impulses. Up close, a complex, almost microscopic structure is revealed, while from a distance a cohesive, powerful overall image emerges.

Within the series Organic Grounds, Claim 173 understands itself as a pictorial “ground” in which color is not used decoratively but appears as an active process. The surface becomes a carrier of movement, memory, and energy – comparable to natural soils, sediments, or grown landscapes.
