The Landscape as an Experiment.

"Marsfeld LI" measures 11.8 x 9.4 inches, is made of paint residues, and resulted from an experiment. The paint residues used for this painting are colorful. Acrylic paints, oil paints, and varnish residues interact with each other in various combinations of color, shape, and size. The sizes of the paint residues range from very fine dust to paint chunks about 0.08 inches in diameter. It is the size differences of the paint residues that allow for a composition. In this case, a landscape with a subtle crater from a bird's-eye view.

An abstract painting made from leftover paint.

From a distance, the work initially appears to depict an earthy or sandy, beach-like surface. As you take a few steps closer to the painting, you realize that it is colorful and made up of small remnants of paint. The abstract painting becomes more concrete the longer you observe it: in your mind, you start to see wind, water, and eventually the morphology of a crater in the landscape.

The small-format landscape for an inspiring atmosphere at home.

"Marsfield LI" is a small painting. It looks best in a small room, in the hallway, on the stairs, or in a niche. The unusual spatial quality - the true haptic (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional) - together with the simple composition creates a very original and interesting effect. Environment...that can only be gradually understood. The spatial and compositional effect is extremely subtle, giving the painting a very fine, elegant, and stimulating quality.

The 'Martian Fields' look veryelegant in vertical or horizontal rowsThis way, even larger rooms can be decorated with the small-format Mars tiles. When hanging pictures side by side, it's important to note that variety is key. A crater that appears yellow-brown from a distance, set between wave-like reddish structures resembling a beach and a grayish-looking whirlpool, is more visually inspiring than several craters of the same size placed next to each other.

These can quickly be overlooked as patterns. Also interesting is the PriceThe images on the theme "Marsfeld" are not exactly cheap, but they are extremely affordable considering their quality. For some, this represents a relatively risk-free entry into the world of contemporary art. For others, it might be an opportunity to modernize, make smaller spaces interesting, and do so affordably. With this type of art, you make a subtle statement. The paint remnants as a defining element of the image give your decor something very original. Good to know.

The special adhesivesThe cotton and binder used for these experiments ensure that the paint residues adhere very well to the canvas. If individual paint residues should fall off - perhaps due to transport or curious children's fingers - it's not a big deal: All 'Marsfield' paintings consist of multiple layers. glued paint residuesso that the canvas remains covered despite minor damages.

I always strive to present an authentic picture of my work on the website. The photographs of the paintings are taken in the studio or next door in the living room. However, the colors you see on your monitor may slightly differ from the actual colors on the painting. The images presenting the painting in the room were generated using the 'Smartist' app. This app displays paintings in the exact correct proportions to the room and can also make artworks appear framed in any way you like.
