The abstract landscape painting "Field of Mars XLII" measures 30 x 24 cm and is composed of colorful paint remnants and binder. Acrylic paints, oil paints, and leftover varnish interact with each other in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes. The paint remnants consist of small paint chips ranging from about 0.2 cm to 0.4 cm in diameter. It's the spaces and indentations between the paint remnants that create an unusual tactile quality. This allows art to be presented in a very special way.
An experimental painting made from paint remnants.
From a distance, the piece first appears to depict a reddish or sandy surface. As you step closer to the painting, you realize that the work is completely colorful and made up of small paint remnants. The modern painting becomes more concrete the longer you look at it: thoughts of wind, water, and natural erosion come to mind.

The "Field of Mars" works look very elegant in vertical or horizontal rows. This way, even larger spaces can be decorated with the small-format Field of Mars pieces. With paintings hung side by side, it’s important to note that variety is key. A crater that appears yellow-brown from a distance, set between beach-like reddish wave structures and a grayish-looking swirl, is more inspiring to the eye than several craters of the same size next to each other.

These can easily be overlooked as patterns. What's also interesting is the price: The paintings on the theme of "Field of Mars" are not cheap, but extremely affordable in relation to their quality. For some, this means a relatively low-risk entry into the world of contemporary art. For others, it might be the chance to decorate smaller spaces in a modern, interesting, and affordable way. With this kind of art, you make a quiet statement. The paint remnants alone, as a defining element, give your decor something truly original.
