Two paintings become a work of art.
"RE12" is an artwork that falls into the category of "Remnants of an Experiment." It consists of two pieces glued together. "Organic Grounds" Paintings that undergo a "correction" by being cut or pasted over. They were thus revived as "remnants."
This large-format abstract painting employs a mixed technique, combining acrylic, water-mixable oil paint, and varnish. However, the term "painted" hardly does justice to the method used, as the colors were more thrown and splattered, resulting in a highly experimental outcome.
Many colors and textures in cool tones.
The variety of structure and color in this artwork is impressive. The size of the color dots and strokes, as well as the changes in brightness, play a crucial role in spatial perception. The application and blending of colors were repeatedly interrupted during the painting process to control the spatial effect. The result is a natural diversity in color and structure that engages the viewer in an unusual, abstract manner. Particularly striking are the cool colors in blue, violet, and green, which mix in complex ways with smaller amounts of yellow, red, and white to create spatial depth.
The brightness of the painting subtly changes from top to bottom. In the upper half, the colors are bright, pointillistic, and small, while in the lower half, they become somewhat darker, more linear, and larger. These variations give the impression of standing before a lively meadow or field.
Despite the abundance of colors and textures, "RE12" has a subtle overall effect and can be appreciated both from a distance and up close. The composition is minimalist and entirely based on experimenting with color application. In a modern living space, this large-format painting creates a contemporary atmosphere.
