The canvas serves as the foundation for the large-format paint box.

I used acrylic and oil paints, adhesive concrete, glue, and a final varnish for painting the artwork. The oversized paint box was constructed from wooden slats, cup lids, a canvas, and chipboard. The large-format piece of art"Bullfighting"measures43.3 x 39.4 x 2 inchesand was established in 2012 in Mainz.First, I built the paint box using a chipboard and different types of strips, partly by gluing with adhesive and partly with screws. The small round paint trays are cup lids. The lids were framed with strips of wood of the same height, the resulting gaps filled with mounting foam, and sealed with cardboard before being glued onto the chipboard. To create as realistic a surface as possible, the paint trays and paint box compartments are withPrimed with adhesive concrete and thick layers of acrylic paintAfterward, the primer was "sealed" with glue.

Abstract painting on the reddish paint box: Painting or sculpture?

My experimental painting on the oversized paint box creates modern, abstract object art: a painted sculpture for the wall and, at the same time, a painting. The juxtaposition of graceful color fields createsTensions in Form and ColorOn one side, the primary colors yellow, red, and blue, accompanied by orange, green, black, pink, and white. These colors can be found in this or a similar form in almost every paint box. On the other side, the 'used' paint box compartments, the colorful interspaces, and the reddish border area. The spatial, partly complementary effect of the colors is further enhanced by the resulting shadows of the box.

Interesting Facts about the Presentation of the Painting "Bullfight".

There is no "up" or "down", the picture can be presented in any orientation. That's why "Bullfight" is signed on the back. The glossy varnish protects the artwork from color changes. If there is a lot of light facing the painting, such as from a window, the glossy varnish can be replaced with a matte varnish by me. You can achieve optimal presentation by leaving space around the painting. The width of the wall area should be at least 2.5 meters and at most 5 meters, including the painting.
