Paint on the color palette becomes modern art: "At Vesuvius."
The leaps in thought that the paint box inherently generates as a symbol can be clarified through the title. The title "At Vesuvius" is an invitation to steer one's associations in a different direction without losing the personal touch. The result of the experimental painting, whichThe Symbolic Power of the Paint Boxas well as the assistance of a title ("At Vesuvius") invite association. Once sparked, the imagination allows for a personal and diverse abstraction of what is seen. The painting thereby becomes a source of personal inspiration.
Modern Art: Between Painting and Sculpture.
The painting on the oversized paint box creates a colorful, very modern wall sculpture. The juxtaposition of graceful color fields developsTensions in Form and ColorOn one side, the warm colors yellow, orange, and red, as well as white, and the cool colors green, blue, violet, along with brown and black. These colors, perhaps in a different order, can be seen in almost every paint box. On the other side, the "used" paint box compartments, the colorful gaps, and the colored edge area where white, red, green, and violet appear again. The spatial effect of the colors is further enhanced by the resulting shadows of the paint box. Through the symbolism of the paint box, a painting emerges that can be categorized as "modern art."
The canvas as the foundation for the paintbox.
The oversized paint box was made from wooden slats, cup lids, and a canvas. The paint box"At Vesuvius"measures31.5 x 31.5 x 1.6 inchesand was founded in 2021 in Wiesbaden.
I glued and screwed the canvas together using different types of strips. The small round color palettes are deep cup lids. The lids were framed with equally high wooden strips, the resulting gaps were filled with mounting foam and sealed with cardboard before being glued onto the canvas. To create the most realistic surface possible, the paint containers and paint box compartments are filled withPrimed with adhesive concrete and thick layers of acrylic paintAfterward, the primer was sealed with glue.
Acrylic and oil paints, adhesive concrete, and glue were used for the treatment and painting of the artwork.
Interesting Facts about the Presentation of the Painting "At Vesuvius."
There is no 'up' or 'down'; the picture can be displayed in any orientation. That's why it is signed on the back. The matte varnish protects the artwork from color changes. If desired, I can gladly apply a glossy varnish over the matte one. For optimal presentation, ensure there is space around the painting.
