The paint remnants used for this artwork were taken from a dried paint palette. Acrylic paints, oil paints, and leftover varnishes interact in a wide variety of colors, shapes, and sizes to form a landscape. The paint remnants compose a whirlpool. From a distance, this artwork first appears earthy or sandy, almost monochrome. However, the swirl is easy to spot up close due to its pronounced texture. It is created in this spot solely by the change in size of the paint remnants. As you step closer to the painting, you’ll notice that it’s actually colorful.
A small modern artwork for a niche.
"Field of Mars LXIII" is a small work of art. It is best showcased in a small space, hallway, stairwell, or a niche. The unusual sense of space—the genuine haptics (three-dimensional) combined with the contrasts (two-dimensional)—in interplay with the simple composition, creates a very original atmosphere that can only be discovered gradually. The subtle spatiality and composition lend the modern artwork a refined elegance.
Atmosphere in the room with art in vertical or horizontal rows.

This type of art looks very elegant in vertical or horizontal rows. In this way, even larger rooms can be decorated and a special atmosphere created. When hanging paintings side by side, it’s important to note that variety is key. A crater that appears yellow-brown from a distance, flanked by beach-like reddish wave structures and a grayish whirlpool, is more inspiring to the eye than several craters of the same size in a row, which can quickly be overlooked as a pattern.
Interesting facts about the unique piece "Field of Mars LXIII".
The special adhesives for cotton and the binder used for this artwork ensure very good adhesion of the paint residue to the canvas. If any paint residue does fall off—perhaps during transport or by curious children's fingers—it's not a big deal: All "Field of Mars" paintings consist of several layers glued paint remnants, so that even with minor damage, the canvas remains covered with paint residues.
I always strive to present an authentic image of my work on the website. The photos of the paintings are taken in the studio or next door in the living room. THowever, the colors you see on your monitor may differ slightly from the actual colors of the painting. The images showing the painting in a room were created using the "Smartist" app. This app displays paintings in exactly the right scale for the space and can also show artworks in any frame you like.
The price is worth it.
The price is also interesting: While the paintings from the "Field of Mars" series aren’t cheap, they are extremely affordable considering their quality. For some, this means a relatively low-risk entry into the world of art. For others, it might be a chance to decorate smaller spaces in a modern, interesting, and affordable way. With this type of art, you make a subtle statement. The use of paint remnants as a defining element adds something truly original to your decor. Don’t hesitate to request an art consultation from me.
